June 2013 Meeting

We hope you will join us for our Jun 4th meeting at AMN Healthcare. Here is the schedule:

  • Getting Started With TypeScript (David Kennedy) TypeScript is the new language from Microsoft for JavaScript development. Some people are under the impression that it’s a replacement for JavaScript, but that’s not entirely true; TypeScript helps .NET developers write JavaScript more effectively. This talk will cover what TypeScript is and is not, when and why you might consider it, and how to get started.
  • Metrics for the Success of an Agile Team (Chris Lucian & Llewellyn Falco) -This talk covers metrics for managers and developers alike to gauge the success of an agile team. Following these metrics a teams performance gain or loss can be communicated to all levels of an organizational structure.
    Chris Lucian is one of the founders of http://www.MobProgramming.org. Creator of many games/apps for Android and iPhone. Programs mainly in C#, Java, Html5, and Objective C. Find his blog at http://www.DeadlyApps.com.
    Llewellyn Falco is an Instructor for DevelopMentor. He is a international speaker and the creator of the open source testing tool ApprovalTests(www.approvaltests.com). He spends most of his time programing in Java and C#. He also volunteers creating courseware and teaching kids to program ( http://www.teachingkidsprogramming.org ).
