The San Diego .NET Developers’ Group is one of the oldest continuous user groups in Southern California and is run exclusively by volunteers. The group was started by local developers that includes Richard Eckert, David Randolph and David McCarter in 1994 as the San Diego Visual Basic User Group. They evolved into the current form shortly after Microsoft .NET was released in 2002.

Since the beginning, they have catered to all levels of developers – beginner, intermediate and advanced levels, creating a fun environment for learning, sharing and networking. The group has not only launched many software engineers careers in San Diego but also helped other local developers find career opportunities to further their career development. The group has featured local developers presenting sessions along with developers from around the world.
